When we are truly dead to the world there is nothing the world can do to us. It is impossible for a dead man to fear, to be offended, or to feel remorse because he loses some of his possessions. Tothe degree that we fear the loss of our possessions or positions, that is probably the degree to which we are still not dead to these things. The enemy uses fear to bind us just as the Lord uses faith to set us free.
We are normal people who enjoy the pleasures of biking and everything it involves. We enjoy having fun and living life to the fullest.
Dead Men Riding (DMR) is a Christian Biker Ministry with members from all walks of life. The name was registered in the August 2002 edition of Bike SA and started activities in 2003.
We are proud members of the following Biker Presidents Councils:
West Rand Bikers Association (WRBA)
Vaal Presidents Council (VPC)
East Rand Presidents Council (EPC)
Pretoria Biking Community (PBC)
North West Biker Association (NWBA)
The name – Dead Men Riding
[Galatians 2:20 - New King James Version] “I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I that live but Christ who lives in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by the faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me”
It is within this passage that “Dead Men Riding” finds its origin. Through Jesus Christ’s love, crucifixion, death, resurrection and forgiveness we are therefore no longer living under the slavery of sin, we have been crucified with Christ and through His victory, we can have life, an abundant fun filled life! This is the grace of God! Although we are ‘Dead’ we are very much alive because of the wonderful grace of God. We love biking and we are extremely active in the biking community. God has given us a second chance in life. We did not deserve it, but He gave it. None of us are heroes, we are just examples of His grace.
We try to uphold the five R's of life
Respect for self
Respect for others
Responsibility for your actions
Road of Righteousness
The ColoursOur colours are made up of two interlinked Triquetra’s (Try–ket-ra). The triquetra is a Celtic cross that symbolizes the Triune God - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
The red triquetra represent God. Each one of the three triangles respectively represents the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The middle of the triquetra where all three “meet” represents the Triune God - Three distinct persons but one God.
The blue triquetra represent man. The Bible teaches that man is Body, Soul and Spirit. Each one of the three triangles respectively represents the body, the soul and the spirit. The middle of the triquetra where all three “meet” represents man - Three distinct faculties but one man.
As we cannot live without God in our lives the red triquetra surrounds the blue triquetra. Man is dependant on God and without God we are and can do nothing.
We believe in God the Father, the Almighty, creator of the heavens and the earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and buried, entered the realm of the departed, rose again from the dead after three days, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from where He shall return.
We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy apostolic church; the community of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the dead, and life everlasting.
What we do
Our aim is fellowship with bikers, building and maintaining true friendships, supporting one another, building the biker brotherhood, having fun and living life to the fullest!
We enjoy riding bikes, being together and fellowship with one another. We try to avoid judging and encourage everyone to be ‘real’, the same person, at home, at work, at church, at a bike jol, or wherever.
We look past the outer shell that houses the spirit of the person within. We search for and encourage a real and true relationship with God more than worrying about smoking, drinking, bad habits, etc. When it is time God will, if you let Him, change you as He sees fit and not according to any law of man.
Membership to Dead Men Riding is upon invitation from the South African- and respective club President although anyone is welcome to ride with us as guests. The awarding of Dead Men Riding colours rest solely with The South African President. The colours will always remain the property of Dead Men Riding.
Members of Dead Men Riding are active followers of Christ within their respective churches. It is expected of Patch Wearers to form meaningful relationships with other bikers, ride together to attend biker rallies, biker day jols, biker charity events, biker funerals and any other biker related events.
Being a Patch Wearer of Dead Men Riding requires dedication, sacrifice, commitment, accountability, ownership, standards and some serious back bone. What Christ requires from His people is clearly set out in the Word of God. We will live and be obedient to Him, whatever it takes. We will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
We will not be weekend Christians, at all times we will be known as unashamed followers of Christ.
The Biker Soldier
I am a biker-soldier, a prayer warrior, of the army of my God. The Lord Jesus Christ is my Road Captain. The Holy Bible is my code of conduct. Faith, Prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare. Secular rallies, events, and the highway are my arenas.
I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity, and tested by fire. I am a volunteer in this army, and I am enlisted for eternity. I will either retire in this army, or die in this army; but I will not get out, sell out, be talked out. I am faithful, capable, and dependable.
If my God needs me, I am there. I am a biker-soldier, a prayer warrior, I am not a baby. I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up, pumped up, picked up, pepped up, or patted on the back. I am in this war for souls!
